Hello Pastor Glenn,
First let us thank you for conducting our beach wedding on Monday at 5:30. It was just perfect but then everything that day was perfect because our Lord had His hand on it all. Don't know if Roger told you our story but here goes:
He proposed to me in the card A Promise of Love on the way to Mobile that morning. He said the date and time was left up to me but that he wanted us married before we leave on a mission trip to Guatemala in Sept. I smiled and said, "what about today on the beach?" He said "if the Lord will work it out, let's go for it." He contacted you then we looked for rings. We found wide white gold bands at the first jeweler we visited and our rings were sized within 2 hrs.
Meanwhile, you called to inform us that we could purchase our marriage license in Mobile. We zipped downtown. There was a crowd of people waiting and we thought we would be there a minimum of a couple of hours. We took a number and before I even sat down the lady called our number. AMAZING! We filled out the documents and paid the $44 for the license. We thought we might have difficulty finding a place to stay the night but the very first place I called had a vacancy for 1 night.
We know that our union has been blessed by our Heavenly Father and we want to THANK YOU for being a part of it. When people ask us "who was at your wedding?", we smile and say Us, Pastor Glenn and Our Lord!! Our beach wedding was a sweet, meaningful service and the pictures turned out perfect except we didn't get one of you! Now we're praying that we will get our marriage certificate back in plenty of time to have our passports changed before our mission trip.
